Blue Horse Design Goals for 2010
It’s really very simple, ... I am committing to a $5,000 (if not more!) donation to my favorite rescue ... Pregnant Mare Rescue in Watsonville, Ca. They are a tiny, yet wonderful rescue who are passionate about saving pregnant mares and foals. Every horse who is lucky enough to enter into their care is loved and cared for as if they are a ‘forever horse’. Why? Because they are. These lucky horses will never again be thrown away - they have a life time commitment. A loving home will be found for them, and if it takes time so be it - they are part of the Pregnant Mare Rescue family during the time it takes to find that special match. Each horse is loved and cared for as if this were their home. How do I know this? Last year I was lucky enough to be approved to adopt Patriot. It was with tears that Lynn parted with him. He had been with her for over a year - extreme medical bills, illness, injury and all the stress, both financially and emotionally, that goes into providing care for such a needy little equine spirit. But, his needs were met; he grew healthy, strong and, oh so kind. I cannot thank Lynn and Pregnant Mare Rescue enough. They never gave up on this little guy. So, when his adoption was approved, I was honored to be entrusted with his care. Today I savor every moment I have with him. Each day is a gift. It makes me so happy that this once six month old ‘throw away’ now has not one, but two, moms to contend with. Lynn will always be a part of his life, and believe me, Patriot’s up to the challenge of two moms! Thank you, Lynn for this wonderful gift. Patriot continues to make you proud - I’m so proud of him everyday. Such patience, kindness and so very willing. A very loving and affectionate little gelding.
So, let’s give back a little and help Pregnant Mare Rescue continue to do the work they do so well. It’s been a tough year - let’s help save and salvage more equine lives. Our horses are so very much deserving of a second chance at a happy life. And yes, ... they are our horses.

Blue Horse is happy to get the event season going early this year with a vendor booth at the Whole Horse Wellness Clinic & Extravaganza. Plus, for the very first time, I have a volunteer who will be helping with this two day event - very exciting!
